We truly enjoyed our stay at Castle Park Guest House.It was everything you wanted in a B&B, the room was large, loved the bay window, comfy bed, hot shower, bus stop right outside, fabulous breakfast-pain au chocolate and quiet.The frosting on the cake are the owners themselves, David and Ian.So welcoming and helpful.Loved it!

Room was lovely, breakfast was great with lots of optionsand Ian and David were very helpful. Within walking distance of the centre and handy bus into town from right outside the guest house.

Iwas traveling alone for 3 days in Edinburgh and Castle Park Guest House was everything I needed. David and Ian were warm, welcoming and helpful. The house and room was spacious and well appointed. I walked daily and sometimes twice to city center along the meadow. There is also public transport out the front door.My only concern is teaching my husband to make me a tattie scone at home since I now love them!

It was my father and I’s first trip to Edinburgh and I’m so glad we found Castle Park Guest House. Ian and David were excellent hosts, so accommodating from the beginning of our booking up to check out. The home is situated a small walk from the busy center, but their neighborhood is so peaceful, making the location ideal. The home is also serviced by a couple bus lines directly across the street and a fee others a couple streets over. I loved how the rooms were themed on the original Scottish clans and their tartans. Our double twin room was impeccably clean, comfortable, with plenty of storage space and a roomy bathroom (with private toilet and shower). But I think my favorite part of our stay were the delicious, filling breakfasts complete with home-baked breads made by Ian. The options available were also impressive, and Ian and David made sure to accommodate any dietary restriction their guests may have. On our early tour mornings, they also offered us grab-and-go items to take with us on our trip. Our stay at Castle Park Guest House was truly fantastic and I cannot wait to stay here again!

Ian and David have created a wonderful place! Both make you feel at home and read everything what you potentially need from your eyes! Their kindness, the design of the house in combination with a delicious breakfast with home made bread made my stay really memorable! Among all these benefits one might forget the perfect location of the guesthouse, the city center is in walking distance, but far enough to escape the city hustle. Overall at least a 12 from 10 ;)

Castle Park Guest House is one of the nicest B&Bs I've stayed at, anywhere. As a solo traveler, I felt safe and well taken care of by wonderful hosts Ian and David. The single room was very clean and comfortable, with all the amenities I could have asked for, not least the delicious made-to-order breakfast. Fantastic location, too. I hope to stay here again and would absolutely recommend!

Unser Zimmer war mit viel Stil gestaltet,ruhig auf den Innenhof gerichtet und das Bett war sehr bequem.Wir können diese Unterkunft unbedingt weiterempfehlen und bedanken uns ganz herzlich bei Ian und David für die Gastfreundschaft!

Ian und David führen ihr B&B mit sehr viel Hingabe und Liebe zum Detail. Wir wurden sehr individuell mit einem Glas Sekt begrüßt. Das Frühstück war jeden Morgen ein Erlebnis und hat aufgrund der wunderbaren Gespräche, die wir mit Ian und David führten, immer etwas länger gedauert. Das B&B wurde von Ian und David komplett modernisiert und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Auf den Punkt gebracht: wer gerne bei Freunden bzw. herzlichen Gastgebern Urlaub macht ist hier genau richtig!

Ian and David are lovely, attentive hosts. The property is in perfect, fairly recently renovated condition and beautifully appointed. Breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day! Whilst it is a little distance from the city centre, there is a bus stop right out front with easy tap on, tap off and taxi rides don’t take long either. Highly recommend. Had a fantastic time at the Castle Park Guest House. The rooms were spacious and clean, the breakfast was very inclusive for people with dietary requirement, and the owners were a delight.

Our two night stay at the Castle Park Guest House was superb. Every detail was attended to carefully and graciously. Ian and David were lovely hosts. Great area, easy walk to Old Town and fun establishments but quiet and safe at night. Breakfast was a real treat. Idyllic experience and highly recommend!

Sehr schönes Guest House mit aussergewöhnlichem Komfort. Ian und David sind perfekte Gastgeber mit Liebe zum Detail und geben sich wahnsinnig Mühe. Die Zimmer waren sehr schön eingerichtet und das Bett sehr bequem.Auf dem Zimmer hat es einen Wasserkocher, Tee, Kaffee etc. und Wasser. Auch einen Fön hat es. Das Frühstück war fantastisch! Aufgrund einer Laktoseintolleranz wurde auf Anfrage auch Hafermilch angeboten. Das Parken mit vergünstigten Konditionen in einem nahegelegenen Parkhaus hat super geklappt. Die Lage war ok und schön ruhig. Die Innenstadt ist zu Fuss oder per Bus gut erreichbar. Ein Taxi kostet ca. £ 9. Würden jederzeit wieder buchen.

(For English look at the bottom of this text; first in Dutch, as we are Dutch)Wij hebben echt genoten van ons 3-daagse bezoek aan Edinburgh en in het bijzonder van ons verblijf bij Castle Park Guesthouse met 7 kamers. De eigenaren Ian en David deden werkelijk alles om ons een zeer gastvrij gevoel te geven. Hun plezier in hun werk straalde af op alles wat ze deden en hoe ze hun "Guesthouse" hadden ingericht. Het ontbrak ons aan niets. Het prachtige huis en onze kamers waren zeer smaakvol ingericht en alles was superschoon. Ik heb zelden in een zo'n fijn bed geslapen. De regendouche was ruim en heerlijk en de handdoeken dik en zacht. Perfectionisme tot in het kleinste detail. Het Schotse ontbijt werd uitgebreid uitgelegd en smaakte heerlijk. Niet te veel, om afval zoveel mogelijk te voorkomen, maar er was voldoende en bijvragen was geen enkel probleem. De auto konden we in het weekend gratis voor de deur parkeren. Dichtbij het centrum: een wandeling van 15 minuten bracht ons al op de "Grassmarket". Als je hier gaat overnachten krijg je geen spijt.(In English)We really enjoyed our 3-day visit to Edinburgh, especially our stay at Castle Park Guesthouse with 7 rooms. The owners, Ian and David, truly did everything to make us feel very welcome. Their enjoyment of their work was reflected in everything they did and how they had decorated their "Guesthouse." We lacked nothing. The beautiful house and our rooms were very tastefully decorated and everything was super clean. I have rarely slept in such a comfortable bed. The rain shower was spacious and delightful, and the towels were thick and soft. Perfectionism in the smallest detail. The Scottish breakfast was thoroughly explained and tasted delicious. Not too much, to minimize waste as much as possible, but there was enough, and asking for more was not a problem. We could park the car for free in front of the house during the weekend. Close to the city center: a 15-minute walk brought us to the "Grassmarket." If you stay here, you won't regret it.

It was such a lovely, comfort and convenient stay at Castle Park. My favorite was the homey atmosphere, cleanness, attentiveness from Ian and David, lovely and quiet yet super convenient location and stable WIFI connection. What else could you ask for a perfect stay! In addition, I felt as if I was a local rather than a tourist by staying at Castle park, which I could never experienced in a hotel at city center. The cleanness of the house was higher than popular hotel chains. I’m as impressed as many other guests. It’s very quiet throughout the day and night. You’d hear beautiful bird chirping in the morning that I didn’t feel being bothered at all. The high ceiling room reminds me my apartment when I lived in New York. Bus 10 and 27 are literally steps away right out side the front door, taking me directly to city center in less than 10 min and Botanic Garden in 20-30 min. Restaurants, coffee shops, and even post office are 5min walk. Ian’s breakfast was delicious, fast and sufficient to supply me enough energy to go through more than half day until my late lunch so that my touring could be more efficient. Both Ian and David are great in explaining rules and options as well as super responsive to my emails before my arrival even with 8hr time difference. I stayed in a single room with a queen bed. The room is on a smaller side but I was traveling by myself and spent most day out touring so it’s perfect for me with a quality and cost effective stay! I was reluctant to move to a prominent hotel at city center paid by my employer for work. I’m writing this review and missing my stay at Castle Park. Will definitely stay here if I ever visit Edinburgh again.

Accommodation is very good

We stayed for two nights when visiting for the Taylor Swift concert. It was fantastic! David and Ian were lovely hosts. Nothing was too much and they always offered advice about places to eat and transport. The room was lovely and clean and decorated really nicely. Breakfast was superb with lots of choice and homemade ingredients. The location was great for us- just a 15 minute walk from the city centre and away from the crowds. Thank you so much. We will return when we come back to Edinburgh in the future.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Castle Park Guest House during my visit to Edinburgh.First of all, Ian and David are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They go above and beyond to ensure you feel at home. It’s like staying with friends who genuinely care about your comfort.The guest house is an old victorian townhouse, that has been tastefully updated. You'll find little tartan themed decoration everywhere in the house, which I personally loved!! It's conveniently located and just a 15 minute walk away from the city center, making sightseeing a breeze.My room had everything I needed to feel comfortable, the private bathroom with it's big shower was spotless. Everything was clean and tidy.Regarding the breakfast I really looked forward to it, especially because I wanted to try a traditional but classic english breakfast. Not only was it cooked freshly just for me, Ian and David bake their own bread. That means you can have freshly homebaked toast bread every morning with your breakfast! It was really delicious!!Staying at the Castle Park Guest House was an exceptional experience.I'm so happy to habe met Ian and David, they were wonderful hosts, and everything was truly delightful. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended!

We had an absolute wonderful stay in Castle Park Guest House last weekend. The guest house is within walking distance of both the old town and new town. The room was very clean and cosy. The hosts Ian and David really go above and beyond for their guests. We felt very welcome and at home in their house. The breakfast was very delicious. Different breakfast options were available and were all locally sourced which is something that we very much appreciate. We will definitely be returning to Edinburgh in the near future and are looking forward to staying with Ian and David again.

Castle Park is a real gem. David and Ian are brilliant hosts, they have designed the rooms tastefully and meticulously, using high quality furnishings and decor. The breakfast is super, with wholesome ingredients and homemade bread making for agreat start to the day. The house is well placed, being right next to a bus stop, but also being a pleasant walk away from the city centre. I thoroughly recommend this house and appreciate the excellent hospitality shown by the hosts. We will use again if we return to Edinburgh.

I received a very warm welcome and the overall ambience was lovely. I have no complaints about any aspect of my stay and would return again.

There is so much to say. I will break it down into different categories:1. First impression: Before even arriving there, I was already in communication with Ian & David regarding a challenging situation where I wasn’t sure about my check-in time. (Long story, due to the fact that I thought I had lost my passport). The point is that they were so incredibly open to find ways to accommodate me. They didn’t have to, but had offered several options. This showed their incredible kindness from the start. Once everything was resolved and I arrived there, I was greeted with a glass of Cava (a Spanish Sparkling Wine). It is how they welcome their guests. After that, Ian had taken the time to go through all the details about my stay (times for breakfast, entering and leaving the hotel, keys, bathrooms, etc..). Everything around me was kept in a very pristine state. Everything was clean and proper. Even when I went up to the room, it was pretty immaculate. The bathroom was even more impressive. A definite 10/10 on cleanliness.2. Comfort: Most hotels can be a hit or a miss when it comes to the comfort of the mattress. I am personally very picky when it comes to that. Their bed was very comfortable and even the pillows. I also found other guests to be very polite and even discreet. There were no loud noises, no running around. It was pretty peaceful. The bathroom and shower were great. I found a nice bath robe hanging behind the door waiting for me to use it.3. Outlets and lights. I found the room to have sufficient outlets that I could use to setup my charging station. And you had easy access to a light by the bed so that you didn’t have to get up to turn off the lights at night.4. Food: Wow! From previous reviews, I had read about Ian & David baking their homemade bread fresh every morning. And I can say that I had that wonderful smell as soon as I stepped out of my room in the morning. They take the time to use fresh and local ingredients for their breakfast. I was also very impressed with how they kept the counter very clean with a beautiful selection of cereals, fruits, juices and snacks. It was wonderful to know that I could help myself to a snack throughout the day and help myself to different options of juices or even milk to have some cereal.I appreciate that they don’t like to waste any food (I am the same way) so they serve their portions just right and welcome you to order more if you like. For breakfast, I had the Full Scottish Breakfast (with meat). Out of the three places that I had tried during my stay in Edinburgh, this was by far the best one. Everything on the plate was just perfect! I also ordered their croissant and pain au chocolat and it was just perfect!!Even their jam and butter on their home made bread was delicious!! Just writing about it now makes me want that breakfast 10 times over!One more thing about the breakfast and their service, which I will always remember, is being asked if I was left handed or right handed. It was to know in which direction to place the handles of the cup, the cream and the coffee pot in the table! Wow! I’ve never had such personal service! Again, very impressed!5. Location: I was basically a 10-minute walk to the start of the royal mile. And in Edinburgh, it’s beautiful to walk around. From the airport to there, it was pretty easy. I purchased a return ticket with the Airlink Bus (cost me £8 both ways) and from the drop off, it’s a 15-minute walk. I didn’t mind it at all since the scenery was beautiful. So they are nicely located so you don’t feel like you are in a busy area.Overall, I will most definitely make them a must for a place to stay. Again, I can’t stress how great Ian & David were. Their service and attention to detail was just perfect!!Thank you both for a wonderful stay and exceptionalHospitality!

This lovely guest house has so many small touches that you would expect to find in a fancy hotel.Our room was light, airy and spacious and the shower was brilliant. The bed was comfortable and had phone sockets on each side which is always a plus for me. The breakfast was fabulous with a huge choice and the overall attention to detail was second to none. We will definitely be back.

Situated close to parcs and the old town, two useful buslines in front of the Guest House, surrounding areas with Bruntsfield a short walk away makes the situation perfect. Calm, clean, spaceful rooms, really comfortable beds,perfect service from Ian and David and a really nice breakfast. Everything makes the stay unforgettable.

I had a fantastic stay at Castle Park Guest House! I stayed in one of the smaller rooms (Buchanan) and found it to be very comfortable, and as a solo female traveler I felt very safe. The location is great - it’s quiet since it’s not in the middle of the main touristy area, but it’s still very easy to get to many attractions by walking or taking the bus (a bus stop is right across the street). If I’m ever back in Edinburgh then I will definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely stay in one of the rooms with the bay window and en suite bathroom. It was large enough for a king sized bed and a child’s cot plus enough space for our things and for our baby to crawl around. The bed was extremely comfortable and everything we needed was in the room (shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, hangers). Breakfast each morning was delicious and very filling. Loved having all the options from fresh pastries to fruit to smoked salmon to eggs and veggie haggis. David and Ian were excellent hosts and gave us 3 great restaurant recommendations. Will recommend to our friends and family if they travel to Edinburgh!

Ian and David are kind and friendly. Always trying to help. Breakfasts are more than deliciuos, and ther´s tee, coffee and cookies if you need a snack during the day. Neighboorhood is quite and and you can walk to any touristic place without being in a crowded and noisy environment.

The staff of Castlepark guesthous is superfriendly and always ready to help you. And they served excellent breakfast! The room was cozy and clean. The place was located in a region 10~20 mins’ walk from most of landmarks and you can enjoy a beautiful walk while you going to those venues. And also there’s a bus stop just in front of Castlepark guesthouse so you can conveniently take the buses. I really enjoyed staying in Castlepark :)

We came to Edinburgh for my husband’s 60th birthday. We couldn’t be happier with the hotel. Hotel is in the Old Town. Room was large, bed comfy Ian and David put themselves out to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Great choice of breakfast.Would definitely recommend and return in the future.

Castle Park was easily our favorite place to stay during our 2 week visit to the UK ( we stayed in 7 different places!). Ian and David were incredibly accommodating- everything from thorough check in, restaurant recommendations, helping us park our car, the wonderful breakfast (and Ian's homemade bread!). Our room was wonderful and they truly thought of everything when they redesigned the space. I loved chatting with Ian about bread-making over breakfast and we felt very much at home at Castle Park. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Thanks again Ian and David- we cannot wait to visit again!

Ian, David, & their help are absolutely incredible. From the moment we arrived in Edinburgh they made sure we knew exactly where to go and what to do. Ian makes an amazing breakfast and David has the best advice on what to see in the city and around it. Being a Stewart, this trip has been a bucket list event for myself and my family. I stayed three nights at Castle Park Guesthouse and felt at home. Ian and David are great hosts, and they make you feel welcomed and taken care of from the start. Our stay could not have been more wonderful. Ian and David were the ideal hosts; friendly, attentive, generous with recommendations. The breakfasts were amazing; lots of traditional Scottish choices, along with many vegan, vegetarian, etc. options.Our room was immaculate and the beds were extremely comfortable. Decor was taste yet welcoming, even a window seat for reading or relaxing; they obviously have an eye for decorating.Bravo!!!

What is not to love with this place? From the extremely detailed and friendly welcome to the spotlessness of the accommodation, the delicious breakfast and the convenient location with buses to town running from right outside the property, there is very little not to be delighted about.I would definitely recommend and wouldn't hesitate to book again if I am ever back in Edinburgh.

I had 2 nights in this lovely hotel. Very centrally located. The owners have created a very homely and personable atmosphere and were super friendly and welcoming. Cava on arrival. Breakfast was tailor-made and I was spoilt for choice of home-cooked delicacies, including home made bread. The room and bathroom looked newly done up (apparently, they touch up everything every year), was very clean and tidy and very comfortable. Thanks so much for a great experience!

Ian & David are great hosts. It‘s been my second stay with them. The rooms are beautiful, cozy and everything is just so well furnished. The breakfast is delightful and a real highlight.

My wife and I stayed here for a few nights surrounding the New Years celebration for our first time in Edinboro and couldn't have had a better experience. David and Ian truly make the difference as they also live in the building so you can tell that they really do treat it like their home. They were very helpful in giving us tips about the city (go to the rooftop of the museum for a great view) and they make breakfast themselves every morning. Their involvement and friendliness is what makes the stay unique. Of course the location is great as well and the city is amazing. Our only change would be trying to get a bigger room next time as it was a little difficult to move around with both our large bags. But we expected this as we knew it was an actual house and we made it work as the room was still great. We would definitely look at staying here again next time we visit and highly recommend it for first time or repeat visitors.

Our family stayed at Castle Park guest house over the Hogmanay celebrations in Edinburgh.Ian & David are wonderful hosts , very attentive and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble & we appreciated their recommendations for local restaurants etc .The accommodation was first class, spotlessly clean & in a great location. We would definitely stay again & recommend to friends.

It can be hit or miss when traveling out of the country and staying at a Guest House. Castle Park is a total Bulls Eye! For starters communication with Ian was exceptional.Once my daughter and I arrived we were warmly greeted by the wonderful David.They run a very tight and efficient Guest House which allowed us to relax and enjoy every minute of our brief stay.They spared no details and thoughtfully prepared a take away breakfast (GF for me).Our dine in breakfast was sooooooooo good.These gents treated us with such kind attention and went out of their way to make sure I was not lacking in way with my limited GF restrictions.Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and the best part is how quiet the surrounding area is and the comfort of the beds.Castle Park is conveniently located within walking distance or short bus ride to many restaurant, shops and entertainment.

David and Ian were such lovely hosts. The house was so homey and the room was very comfortable. We were checked-in with a delicious welcome drink and shared information about the Scottish breakfast that they serve which was very elaborate / yummy. Both David and Ian were very knowledgeable about the city and able to show us the best route into town (super easy from the BnB), where to eat etc. I would highly recommend staying here and we will be back in the future to see more of Edinburgh and the Scotland Highlands.

Central location. Warm, clean and very comfortable. Ian was extremely attentive and the food was delicious with a very welcome focus on avoiding food waste.

I didn't have a good impression when we first pulled up in front of the Castle Park Guest House in Edinburgh, as there was an auto repair shop across the street and some trash along the curb where we parked. Parking also required payment, although we were able to avoid that on the weekend and we returned our rental car before the required parking fees during the week. Once inside, we were given a warm and thorough welcome by Ian and David who were fantastic hosts. The interior of the home has been completely remodeled with modern fixtures, showers, carpets, etc. Everything was very clean and the hosts continually made sure we were satisfied with everything in the room. Every morning we received a wide choice of options for breakfast that included coffee (French Press), freshly baked croissants, eggs cooked to order, yoghurt, fruit, and many more items that we didn't order. Although the general neighborhood was nothing special, it was safe to walk through at night, and close enough to the center of town and several restaurants. We often chose to walk to where we needed to go, although we also took advantage of the bus line which stopped directly across the street. A very pleasant stay.

Absolutely loved staying at Castle Park for my solo trip. While I was only in Edinburgh for two nights and had limited time in the city, David and Ian made sure I was taken care of and had plenty of recommendations. The area is walkable and super easily accessible to the city bus (which requires just a contactless card, so easy!). The room was cozy and decorated with traditional Scottish decor that made me appreciate the intentionality of the space. Homemade breakfast was the icing on the cake! Would recommend to anyone traveling to Edinburgh and will hope it’s not fully booked next time I go!

Ian and David have thought of every detail in their home. My single room was what I wished I had as a teenager but now appreciate as an adult! Breakfast is not a buffet. Made from scratch to order. They attend to every need if required. This area is not in the city center but felt like coming home at end of busy day. Easy bus ride to center.

As a solo traveler, the help and advice Ian and David provided before I even arrived was extremely helpful. They were communicative and flexible, helping ensure I could get situated as soon as I landed. The guest house itself is beautiful, and in a great central location if you want to be able to easily access the main stretches of the city while still having some peace and quiet when you’re ready to get a good night’s sleep. There are some great bars and restaurants on the surrounding blocks, and it’s a brisk and pleasant walk along the Meadows to get to Old Town; I personally preferred walking everywhere but there are also buses that come through out front to take you around.Waking up and having a full breakfast in the bright and airy sitting room each morning was a treat and was the perfect way to prepare for a day of wandering about. The meals were extraordinary and offered a variety of options, all of which I greatly enjoyed trying over the course of the week.My single room was perfect for me, minimal and clean and suited with everything I’d need - small and charming but affixed with lots of modern functionality that still made it feel luxurious. I had a private bathroom right down the hall which was secure and beautifully updated. Ian and David were helpful throughout my stay, offering recommendations for things to do and checking in regularly to make sure I had everything I needed (like refreshing sheets and towels as needed, stocking me up with snacks to bring on my days out and about, and booking me a taxi for the early morning trip back to the airport).I look forward to staying with them again when I undoubtedly find myself back in Edinburgh!

Our three-day stay in Edinburgh was at the end of a round trip through the rather lonely Highlands - the city was full of tourists. In the beautiful rooms of Castle Park Guest House we could really relax from the crowd :-)It is in a quiet neighbourhood, but still close to the city (walking distance or bus stop next door). We were wonderfully taken care of by Ian and David, with delicious salmon breakfast as well as tips e.g. for taking the bus.Thank you very much for your hospitality, we would love to come back.

Not knowing what to expect, our visit to Edinburgh has been amazing. Lots to see & do & Tattoo was our highlight. But staying at The Castle Park guest house has made it extra special. Room was spacious & had everything we needed, & cleaned every day. Superior king) lovely décor throughout. Close enough to walk into city, but also a bus route right outside door. We felt from the very first moment (already when reading the confirmation emails) that we were going to be in good hands, and we were right. The room was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Breakfast was a charm - make sure you try the salmon and the vegan haggis. I rarely say this but we'd love to be back someday. Ian and David, thanks again and keep it up!

Arriving way too late and tired from our flight, a very friendly host (David) made us soon smile, as did the beautifully designed and outfitted accommodation - the Douglas room. After a relaxing night in the comfortable beds and the surprisingly quiet neighbourhood, the splendid, homecooked scottish breakfast was the next hilight of our stay. We not only enjoyed perfect coffee from the French press and the delicious food, but the delightful Ian with his authentic warmth and his sense of humour.My daughter and I (living in alpine Switzerland) couldn't imagine a better start for our Nature Fotography Trip to the Western Highlands. I booked this place without thinking too much about it and can’t believe how lucky I got! It’s the perfect walking distance from everything, with a great park and restaurants nearby. Ian and David are lovely — they create an atmosphere in the guest house that’s so warm and homey. There is so much thought put into every detail of the house. The room was great — a lot of light, clean, had everything I needed. I got the room with an external bathroom but it was so easy to use plus it’s got a really nice shower. Ian’s homemade bread is delicious at breakfast. They both also gave me good recs for walking routes to town and things to see. I felt really well cared for and I would definitely come back.

THe hosts are incredibly nice and helpful. The room was just beautiful. But the best thing was probably the bed. One of the best we have ever slept in. I can wholehartedly only advice to book.

The house is beautiful renovated and decorated, it's a real pleasure to walk into your room. The bed is magnificent! And so is the bathroom,both very nice and very clean. Breakfast served by Ian is a delight, the famous bread is really very good; I felt very well taken care off.The guesthouse is in walking distance of the Old City, very quiet surrounding, no traffic noise.

Ian & David were wonderful hosts, very helpful in providing info on transportation, making excellent recommendations for nearby restaurants and making delicious breakfasts with lots of choices. The Bruntsfield area is a perfect location away from the crowds of Princes St but only a 5 minute bus ride from right outside the B&B or 20 minute walk. Lots of good restaurants and pubs within minutes. Would recommend and will stay here again if/when we return to Edinburgh.

We had a wonderful experience at Castle Park Guest House. Ian and David know how to run a guest house and that is shown from the very beginning. Being our first time to Edinburgh, they were most gracious in sitting with us and making recommendations for restaurants, tours, etc. Their suggestions were wonderful. Our guest room had been renovated recently with a comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. Their breakfast service was the best that we've experienced in our travels to bed and breakfasts. The guest house is about a 20 minute walk from the Royal Mile but for us the walk was not at all an issue. We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality Ian and David.

My stay at the Guest house was just beautiful. As I am travelling on my own I could not have felt safer.Both guys were so helpful, accommodating and delightful throughout my stay.Great accommodation, amenities were beautiful and comfy beds and in a great area.Would highly recommend this guest house and I hope to return again.

After a day out and about there is nothing better when traveling than coming back to a perfect room. Spacious, clean, light and just plain comfortable!! Fantastic bed and very thoughtful amenities. The breakfasts were fresh, abundant and served in a relaxing atmosphere. Last but certainly not least, our hosts Ian and David were also amazing with spot on recommendations for places to eat and see in Edinburgh. We couldn’t have asked for more!! Dave and Ian are the loveliest Hosts you can imagine. They are very courteous and make you feel like home. Rooms are nice and clean, with modern bathroom. The Breakfast is outstanding, homemade toast, eggs, sausage, haggies and everything with a vegan option. Thank you once again.

David and Ian were incredible hosts and their gorgeous B&B feels like a home away from home. The room and bathroom was beautiful and so well done.It was as clean or cleaner than most hotels. They go above and beyond with their service with each guest. The complimentary breakfast was amazing and was such a great way to start our mornings. They have put their heart and soul into this business and it shows. If you are going to stay in Edinburgh, stay here! It’s minutes away from great restaurants and pubs and close enough to walk to the main attractions. We will definitely be staying here again when we visit Scotland!

We were graciously greeted and provided wonderful suggestions for sights to see and how to get there.Our room was small but very clean, bright, tasteful and functional.Breakfast included fresh bread and pastry, choice of items from traditional Scottish breakfast.Ian was very attentive and checked in with us to make sure everything was great.We walked everywhere and this Guest House was convenient to the Edinburgh Castle and Royal Mile.

The Castle Park Guesthouse is a great place to stay whilst in Edinburgh. Close to the city for local attractions and also evening walks in Meadow Park. Ian and David are great hosts, kind and welcoming with terrific recommendations for local tours and restaurants to try out. The interior is decorated lovely and you can tell that they have made a great effort to modernise the property but still keep a Victorian feel. The glass of bubbly when checking in was a nice welcome and the breakfast was an absolute delight, delicious and filling - customers get a great insight into Scottish cuisine and the hosts make their own bread! Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Castle Park Guesthouse - Ian and David make you feel at home, really warm and friendly and I look forward to staying there again and can’t wait to do so!

We had a great three-night-stay with Ian and David and felt home away from home. Beautifully renovated Victorian house with a cosy and very clean room. We enjoyed an outstanding homemade breakfast. Perfect for exploring the city within walking distance.

We travelled up for the Marathon and arrived at guest house at 9.30am.Even though check in wasn't until 3pm we were welcomed with a coffee and Dave sat down with us with a map and gave us some beautiful places to visit and to walk.The room had everything we needed tea making facilities and biscuits and the bathroom had extra touches such as shampoo and conditioner and shower wash.The breakfast although we only managed one morning due to time of flight on the 2nd morning was delicious! Home made bread and traditional scottish items on the breakfast that I tasted and loved! We were given a packed breakfast for the 2nd day as we were leaving before breakfast that was a lovely touch!David and Ian couldn't do enough for us and will definitely be back!Thank you both

The cleanliness, the details, the tasteful decor, the fantastic breakfast, every little detail! I can’t recommend this place more, partner and I never stay in B & B’s but took the plunge for a couple of nights for a concert.The most friendly hosts who couldn’t do enough for us.Brilliant clean rooms and facilities and the breakfast wasjust as amazing!!Honestly can’t say anything bad about this place, will definitely stay again on our next Edinburgh trip, thank you Ian & David.

Castle Park Guest House, located within walking distance of Old Town, was the ideal place for my few days in Edinburgh. Ian and David are perfect hosts - gracious, attentive, helpful, and very professional. The guest house itself is absolutely immaculate, and both comfortably and beautifully appointed. From the best quality beds and linens to light-filled rooms and daily "fresh-ups," there is extraordinary care for guests. And I haven't yet mentioned the breakfasts. The breakfasts! There are delicious options for an included cooked breakfast - eggs, meats, vegan meats, smoked salmon on request, homemade bread, etc., as well as a variety of quick and cold foods along with pressed coffee, teas, and juices. Breakfast in a lovely sunlit front room with peaceful music is a soul-and-body-nourishing start to the day.In short, the Guest House provides the most comfortable, excellent accommodations without being fussy and pretentious - just perfect. I cannot more highly recommend this lovely guest house.

Very Nice place . The house is carefully decorated. The hosts are very caring and made everything they can so our stay would go well. Édimbourg old Town is 15 mn walk from the house. We would definately advise to go to this place !

This place was incredible at a reasonable price. Easy walk into the heart of Edinburgh from the B&B and an awesome breakfast each morning. The hosts do all the little things right to make you feel at home and I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Edinburgh.

We checked out (with reluctance!) this morning 24/5/2023. This Guest House ticks all the boxes. Booking on-line was very straightforward, the welcome by both David & Ian was warm and genuine. They spent time with us explaining keys, breakfast and the availabiility of refreshments and fruit during any day-time return we might wish to make. We loved the "Clan" theme of each room, right down to the room tartan key-fob. Our room was beautifully fitted out and very confortable indeed, even down to the choice of pillows. Our breakfasts were beautifully cooked and served. We were impressed by the "minimum waste" policy of the owners and their clear care for environmental issues. The Guest House is well placed for a wide choice of restautants. Shops and places of interest are easily accessed by public transport and the Guest House Vestibule is well stocked with maps and leaflets highlighting these choices. We hope to be back. George & Rae

A lovely little guesthouse very close to the heart of Edinburgh. I had a very late arrival due to a flight delay, and they graciously adapted to my schedule. The breakfasts were a highlight and the room was nice and cozy-10 out of 10!

Perfect stay at Castle Park. I really recommend it if you are visiting Edinburgh! Extremely kind, Ian and David are dedicated to making you feel at home since the moment you arrive. The room is comfortable, extremely clean, as is the bathroom. Bus in front of, quick access to the historic center, breakfast with options for vegetarians and vegans if you prefer. But really it's their kindness, the special touch.

I felt like a princess from the moment I arrived until it was time to leave. Delicious, homemade breakfast! Clean and fresh everywhere. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and well equipped. The house is on a quiet street but only with a short walk to “everything”. I definitely recommend this place.

We had traveled Ireland for a month from the USA and this place in Scotland was so inviting. I spent two days at Castle Patk Guest House with my girlfriend and it was the perfect place to stay! David and Ian (the owners) are so friendly, nice, and attentive and did everything in their power to make our stay perfect. The room was gorgeous and breakfast was delicious! 10/10!

We so appreciated David and Ian's extreme level of high hospitality and graciousness: going out of their way to pick up our package that had been sent to the wrong address a few doors down from them. They both made sure all our needs were met - including a delicious cooked breakfast and a packaged breakfast to go on our early-morning departure. They called a cab for us, and they made us terrific restaurant recommendations which were spot on: Tuk Tuk Indian restaurant within easy walking distance and Howies on Victoria St, also walking distance. The renovations/decorations they have done on this unique and gorgeous home are exquisite. We will definitely stay again!

We stayed for 3 days on our first trip exploring Edinburgh. The location was perfect for exploring the city, but far enough away to be quiet in the evenings. Our hosts were so welcoming and happy to offer information on what to do. Breakfast was amazing, lots of choice and great quality,cooked to order.Homemade bread was delicious. Our room was comfortable with fluffy towels, great shower and good quality bedding and furnishings. There were lots of little extra touches such as cereal bars to take away. Would definitely recommend.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm and welcoming smiles from our hosts David and Ian, who were excellent throughout our stay. We particularly loved the attention to detail, such as the fluffy towels and luxurious bedding, which made our stay even more special.The location of the guest house was ideal, not too far away from the lovely old town of Edinburgh, which was a major draw for us. It was great to be able to walk to so many attractions and immerse ourselves in the city's history and culture. Despite being close to the city center, the guest house was peaceful and quiet, allowing us to get a good night's sleep.Overall, we had an amazing time at Castle Park Guest House, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing, and welcoming place to stay in Edinburgh. The Castle Park Guest House was a wonderful temporary home for us for 10 days during our language study trip. The house is beautifully reconstructed, our room was nice and cosy, very clean and we slept very well in the spacious double bed. This and the excellent breakfast are only surpassed by the hosts of the guest house! We are still thrilled by the friendly welcome, the morning conversations (language lessons included) and the many good tips for the city. We can only recommend the Castle Park Guest House. The city with all its sights, cinema, theatre, restaurants and pubs are within easy walking distance from here.

From the very moment you step into this home away from home you are made to feel welcome. Nothing is a bother for the hosts David and Ian. The breakfast every morning was delicious. A great location near to key locations in the city centre but nice and quiet so felt as though you were on the outskirts.

Everything was perfect and made our holiday really enjoyable. We were made to feel so welcome by David on checking in. Amazing stay. Guest house is beautiful, clean and warm. Hostesses were very friendly and ensured everything was perfect for our stay. Breakfast was amazing with home made fresh bread and freshly cooked pastries. Room was great and bed was comfortable. Rooms are soundproofed to ensure the best nights sleep.

We stayed for two nights in November. The location is very handy - just a short walk from Haymarket and close to the Meadows, bars and restaurants, and walking distance into the centre. Ian and David are wonderful hosts - very attentive and they absolutely go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and welcome. The breakfast was great, and definitely vegan- (and veggie-) friendly! The room was clean, cosy, and comfortable, complete with everything you need. Overall Ian and David have made the guesthouse feel comfortable and welcoming like being home, but with all the perks of a hotel/guesthouse. We would definitely stay here again!

One of the best places I have ever stayed , that includeds the 5star Montcalm in London, spotless bueatifully decorated , delicious breakfast and the owners are an absolute joy .

An absolutely fantastic B&B, really well located and run by the nicest people in Ian and David. The B&B has had a full renovation and you can really tell. The house has lost none of its original charm or traditional features whilst also providing all the luxuries you'd want in a modern day B&B, plus extras on top. The breakfast is superb, home-cooked with lots of options for any palette and freshly made pastries that you can take with you whilst you explore Edinburgh. They even make their own bread! The rooms are delightful, clean and cosy; the bed super comfortable and the bathroom perfect. There really is no way to improve this place so if you're umming and ahring about where to stay, just stay here, you will not regret it. Planned a visit to Edinburgh at the end of October and after a few days scouring the internet for potential hotels and apartments my and a friend finally decided on the Castle Park Guest House ran by David & Ian. Reasons for the booking - Location, Price, breakfast included in price and décor of the Guest House was right up my street!On arrival, we had to arrange parking. This was a simple 2 minute journey to a nearby cinema complex. David and Ian, along with other hotels in the area have obviously done their homework and arranged a discounted charge to use the cinema car park if you stoppping in one of several hotels, the £10 per day was a nice little touch considering the cinema charge you 2.5 times that amount for non hotel stayers. A very nice idea indeed.We were shown to our room, which was fantastic. The shower was brilliant, beds were comfy. Breakfast was fabulous, cooked fresh and always left with a full stomach. Jokingly, my friend and I would appreciate later breakfast time, only due to us sampling a few too many beers on both nights before ; ) But seriously the breakfast is great and the hosts can do no more for you , nothing is too much troubleDavid and Ian are very happy to help you before you leave for the day. They make recommendations on places to visit, help with local transport issues like an unexpected rail strike whilst we were there. The location of the guest house is awesome, most places are walkable especially the Old Town and the area by Edinburgh CastleOverall it was a splendid couple of days in the Scottish City, its a fantastic place to visit whatever your interests. Really everything matches in Castle Park Guesthouse. The location is both quiet and well situated to discover all parts of the city. Ian and partner are genuinely welcoming hosts, helping you with everything you may need. The rooms are superb, very stylish and spacious. We had Mackinzie room. Wonderful! And last but not least, the delicious breakfast is to remember forever! We are looking forward to stay here again as soon as we can!

We stayed at Castle Park Guest House for a long weekend and would certainly recommend it as a place to stay in Edinburgh. The room was comfortable, the breakfast superb (with very tasty homemade bread) and David and Ian were extremely nice hosts. From tips on how to get to the old town on foot, to recommendations of where to eat and generally being made to feel very welcome we very much enjoyed our stay. We would stay there again if we came back to Edinburgh.

Iain and David make absolutely every effort to create a quintessentially Scottish home-away-from-home for all of their guests. Staying with them during our last visit to Edinburgh became an unexpected highlight of the trip and left both myself and my partner eager to return as soon as possible solely to experience their hospitality again. The room was extremely comfortable, stylish, and quiet, with a suitably homely view from the window. My partner was particularly impressed with the bed, while I was more appreciative of the breakfast, fulfilling both of our philosophies of life.

Everything was excelent. Amazing breakfast, hand made. The house is very nice and comfortable and fulfil with sustainable standards. The location is pretty good and in 20 minutes you can get Grassmarket and Royal Mile or Dean Village area. Two bus lines have stop in hotel's street. The sorrounding area is very quiet and safe, residential area and very near you can find different restaurants.Ian and David are the perfect hosts. They are very kind and they are always aware of what the guest needs. EXCELENT. One additional comment for the nice Nuria who works with them in the house, her simpathy and smile will be always with us.Ian, David and Nuria speak Spanish, so this is important for a better communication for who do not speak English.We strongly reccomend this guest house.

The hosts are very kind and went above any beyond to accommodate my food sensitivities at breakfast. Quiet room, comfy bed, modern decor with a tartan twist. Easy to walk to Old Town via The Meadows, or north to Dean Village and Stockbridge. Great area to stay in if you don’t want to be right in the thick of tourists but close enough to walk. I will definitely stay again!

Our stay at the Castle Park Guest House was over a two night visit to Edinburgh, and it was the perfect place to start and finish our days. Delicious and hearty breakfast each morning, a very comfy and quiet room each night, a clean and stocked bathroom, and very helpful and friendly owners, Ian and David. The house is walking distance to all of Edinburgh’s sights, and owners were very helpful helping us understand how to get around. Overall, a great experience!

Wonderful B&B recently renovated to a very high standard. Super comfortable bed, well designed bedroom and bathroom and impeccably clean. Plus Ian & David’s lovely cooked breakfast with home made bread. What more do you want?

I stayed here for three nights and had a great time. I arrived in the morning but was able to check in early. Ian was very helpful and had some great tips for the city. The room was very cosy and especially the bathroom was very pretty with an amazing shower. The breakfast each morning was great, with a large selection of everything one could wish for - freshly cooked by Dave!All in all, I could not have hoped for a better guesthouse and more thoughtful hosts. Hope to return sometime soon.

Stayed here forcouple on weekday nights on a work trip and from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, David and Ian could not have been more hospitable and accommodating.The place has been beautifully refurbished with an incredible eye for detail and is elegant and stylish, without being at all overdone.From cavernous shower to super-comfy bed and including a host of thoughtful touches, the room was perfect and this stay was made even better by a great team and their constant attention to our needs - I will certainly be back.Oh yes...and breakfasts to die for!

I had a small but cozy room, everything very clean and freshly renovated, even the bathroom. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful, you immediately feel at home. For breakfast they cook and bake fresh. Those who love Scottish breakfast will be more than happy here, but also for other tastes everything is there and the hosts are happy to cater to individual wishes. Quiet location. To the city center and the castle it is only 15-20 min walk. Bus stop is right in front of the house. WLAN free of charge.

My husband and I stayed two nights in this absolutely lovely guest house. We liked everything about it. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean, the breakfast was amazing, with lots of delicious vegetarian options too, and the position is perfect to explore the city. A lovely guest house in Edinburgh. The room and bathroom was beautifully clean and decorated to a very good standard. Comfy bed, tea and coffee, TV in room with online facility ie youtube etc. Water provided. The hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful and would do everything to make your stay as you would wish. Great restaurant recommendation. 15 min walk to old town, 30 min walk to station.

Every bit as welcoming and comfortable as I had hoped, based on a friendly email from Ian.It seemed to me that every guest was treated as an individual, not just me because I was travelling alone, ha!The attention to detail is evident at breakfast where individual likes are readily recalled by David or Ian and in the rooms, which are well equipped and comfortable.I really recommend CastlePark whether you are travelling alone or not, with or without car.And the buses to the city really are very close by!

On my first solo trip abroad, Ian and David made my stay better than I could have dreamed. My room was beautiful with thoughtful touches like a makeup remover cloth and a hair dryer that works properly. Their breakfasts were divine and the homemade bread is not to be missed. The location is within walking distance to everything I wanted to see or do. It is a delicate balance to be helpful without being overbearing. Ian and David are superb at that balance. My only downside to my stay was that I had to leave too soon. I will definitely be back to stay with them, and I highly recommend the Castle Park Guest House to anyone who wants a wonderful experience in Edinburgh.

I had a conference to attend at the Edinburgh International Conference Center and began my search for nearby B&Bs/hotels many months before traveling. There are several, but I narrowed in on Castle Park Guest House because of the owners’ dedication to being eco-friendly, all positive Tripadvisor reviews, beauty of the house, 8-minute walk to the conference center, and “all are welcome here” position on their website.I made the best decision to stay with Ian and David at the Castle Park Guest House! Five out five stars for location, cleanliness, service, and value! Castle Park was my home for seven days. I believe this is the best B&B in Edinburgh. While I haven’t stayed in any other B&Bs in Edinburgh, I have stayed in B&Bs in other parts of the world, and this was truly my most wonderful B&B experience yet. My colleagues stayed at nearby hotels, paid more money than I did for their accommodations, and did not get a FABULOUS Scottish breakfast cooked to order every morning like I did. I don’t think I could have gotten a better breakfast in an actual restaurant. On the two days I had to leave early (breakfast starts at 8am), I was sent with a bag of fruits and snacks for the road.Before booking, I e-mailed the owners inquiring which room would they recommend as the quietest (I am a horrifically light sleeper). I received a quick response with a couple of recommendations. I chose the “superior double/twin room” on the second floor (Americans would call this the third floor) set under the eaves at the back of the house. The double twins can be combined to make a king-size bed. This room was perfect for me! I slept well even with the windows open every night. I used the supplied fan for white noise. There was also very good soundproofing between the rooms. I don’t know how they achieved this in a historic house, but they did.Ian and David really have thought of everything to make their guests comfortable. The room was painted in soothing colors, the artwork was tasteful (black and white photographs of Edinburgh), the bed was super comfortable with the perfect amount of pillows, the furnishings were useful, spotless, and completely intact, and the curtains were blackout so all outside light could be blocked for optimal sleeping. The shower was AMAZING - far better than my shower at home. The bed scarf and throw pillows were made with Clan Douglas tartan, which made the room feel dreamily Scottish. I have no Scottish heritage, but now I feel loyal to the Clan Douglas – ha ha! The complimentary shower toiletries were Scottish-made, high quality, and smelled lovely. My hair was so soft during my stay in Scotland! The room was outfitted with an electric tea kettle, tea bags, coffee, hot chocolate, milk, sugar, a glass water bottle, and biscuits (cookies). The room was kept spotless all week. The complimentary wifi was fast and always working.The view from this room was amazing. You look out over backyards between historic buildings and a lovely church. The folks on this street take good care of their little yards, with lots of lovely trees and roses. You can see the Holyrood hill in the distance. Just beautiful! The room served as a calming sanctuary at the end of a long day of doing tourist things and attending conference.I arrived during a heatwave. It was actually the hottest day ever on record for Scotland. Most buildings in Edinburgh (including many hotels) are not air conditioned. Castle Park Guest House is also not air conditioned and this room gets the afternoon sun. It was hot upon arrival. That being said, even with it being the hottest day on record, at night the temperature dropped to the low 70s F (about 22 C), which is the temperature I have my air conditioner set on at home anyway. As the night wore on, the room became a very comfortable temperature and the rest of the week, after the heatwave broke, the night temperatures were in the 50-60s F (about 13 C). Optimal sleeping temperature!Ian and David were kind and supportive hosts. They assisted me with efficient walking directions, pointed me in the direction of the best photo opportunities of the city, scheduled taxis for me when needed (their most trusted taxi company’s app does not work with American phone numbers), and they always had a welcoming and encouraging demeanor. They even took a look at a list of restaurants I created from my Tripadvisor research and helped me narrow in on the must visit eateries. Th

Great location, not far (but also not too close) to the town centre, so that it's easy to walk anywhere. Plenty of bus connections nearby too. And restaurants are far less crowded there than in the centre.Wonderful hosts, always willing to help and accommodating. Delicious breakfast. Beautiful, spacious room, quiet surroundings. With all the hard work, love and dedication of 'new' owners/hosts Ian & David, this is definitely not the case any longer with their beautiful and modern clan-themed rooms and very smart establishment in general.From start to finish, we were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them in making every guest feel special.Their attention to detail in all aspects of their business is superb from the top notch, quality breakfast selections to their ad-hoc knowledgeable and helpful tourist advice.With bus stops directly outside for at least 2 very reliable routes into the old and new town areas and a short walk to other alternative routes, there is no need to take a car or taxi if, like us, you are long-distance visitors. This came in very handy for the only rainy day of our 5 day visit.We can't thank Ian, David & Hannah enough for ensuring our stay was so pleasurable and I will be living off the brownie points for a long while to come by choosing their guest house for my wife's birthday treat.

I spent 2 nights in this accommodation in order to visit only 1 day in Edinburgh and was delighted to have been able to stay here. I had booked a room here for a little weekend break with my girlfriend, and we were already talking about how soon we could come back here. It's that good. Everything you could possibly need, and then some. The nightly rate is extremely good value for such a high-standard establishment. Our room was very clean, with plenty of nice amenities. Breakfast was delicious, as you can see on the website, it's a very standard cooked breakfast with lovely homemade bread- they even make fresh pastries!I must thank everyone there for making us feel so welcome, their local knowledge and friendly chat made our stay.

We had such an amazing stay here. It was my boyfriend's first time in Scotland and we definitely picked the perfect spot to stay. Ian and David are so friendly and helpful. Brilliant cooked breakfast, spotless and super comfortable rooms, and stylish, but still homely, decor. Will be coming back for sure! Also, such a great location, walking distance to the old town (20 minutes or so) and a gorgeous walk there via the Meadows park. And the guesthouse's immediate neighbourhood is itself a really cool place to go out with a plethora of cute cafes and bars, supermarkets, and the pretty canal just a stone's throw away. The breakfast was very extensive with homemade toast, eggs in any shape you wanted, beans, bacon, sausages, black pudding, tattie scones. But there was also milk and yogurt with cornfalkes or meusli. From the moment I walked into Castle Park Guest House, slightly flustered with my phone on only 1% battery, I knew I was going to have a wonderful stay. Ian and David made me feel relaxed and welcome immediately, with a glass of fizz whilstchecking in, and found a spare charger for me. My room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and very tastefully decorated, as is the rest of the guest house. Breakfast was superb, including homebred bread and lots of choice (I could have had a bit of everything if I'd wanted to) and on my second day,as I had an extremely early start, they sorted me out with a breakfast I could have either in my room or on the go. Ian and David are perfect hosts, nothing is too much for them, and I will, most definitely, be back!

Fantastic breakfast, including fruit and a snack to go. Hosts were very helpfull with information and trying to make our stay as good as possible. Enjoyed it a lot, from the "bubbles" served at arriving to the last cup of tea provided while waiting for the taxi to the airport. True hospitality over here. And for visiting the city: bus stop in front of the guesthouse will take you to citycentre in an instant.

We had an amazing long weekend in Edinburgh at Castle Park Guest House. The house has been renovated so nicely and no details are missed. The hosts are so friendly and nothing is too much for them. Had a great few days in Edinburgh staying at Castle Park Guesthouse. We choose to stay here due to good location, fair price and previous reviews and were not disappointed. The guest house is clean, comfortable and the hosts go out of their way to ensure your needs are met. The breakfast was cooked to order each day with great choices and if you want your eggs flipped, or your bacon a little crispier, just ask! Castle Park Guest House is a fantastic B&B and made our 2-night mini-break in Edinburgh so pleasurable. Huge thank you David and Ian for fitting us in at such short notice on a Saturday afternoon after our original choice of accommodation (a nearby big-name hotel) severely let us down! But we're so happy that our misfortune led us to stay here instead.Just a short walk from Haymarket, it is well-located with a pleasurable walk to shops, restaurants and attractions like the Museum of Scotland and The Real Mary King's Close - both of which we enjoyed immensely on the recommendation of our hosts.Our top-floor room (Douglas) was spacious, modern and absolutely spotless with an extremely comfortable bed and a wonderful, roomy shower. In fact, the entire property is cosy, sparkling clean and shows incredible attention to detail.Breakfast was superb, served with a choice of delicious, aromatic pastries and wonderful home-made bread - we recommend trying everything on the menu, especially the vegetarian haggis and tattie scone if you were (like us) unfamiliar with them. Our hosts were generous and super attentive, making sure the meal was to our liking and that we didn't go hungry!We'd definitely recommend Castle Park Guest House to anyone looking to stay in Edinburgh. Make it your first choice before even thinking of any other hotel in the area - you won't be disappointed!

The property is beautifully decorated to a high standard and very clean. The room was a good temperature and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was nice and hot. What I really liked was the attention to detail. Ian and David were welcoming and friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay again and recommend to my friends and family 😁

We stayed here for 2 nights in December. Upon arrival we were immediately made to feel welcome. We were given a glass of bubbly each and informed we had been given a free room upgrade due to availability !! We were also told our room was ready early and we could check in which was fantastic. Our room was perfect. Clean, spacious and quiet. It had everything in it to accommodate our needs. The bed was super comfy! Breakfast was a highlight, there was a fantastic choice of hot breakfast and continental to choose from, as well as a selection of drinks. It was all absolutely delicious. Ian and David were the most fantastic hosts, nothing was too much trouble and they were always so helpful if you had any questions. We would absolutely come back and stay here again!

I spent two nights at CPGH. I was upgraded when I arrived and warmly greeted by one of the owners. My room was smartly updated and very comfortable. The breakfast was generous and delicious, especially the home made bread. The owners were happy to share tips on local restaurants and bars. The location was very central which made travel around the city whether on foot or bus very easy. I highly recommend the guesthouse!

Ian and David are very kind and truly want you to feel welcome. I really felt like home.I loved the breakfast, very good quality and they prepare everything with so much care. The room also is very comfortable, the place in general you can see is very clean and they think about every detail. For sure, if I go back to Edinburgh I will stay with them again. This accommodation was the icing on the cake of my trip.

Had originally planned on a day trip to Edinburgh, then found this guest house on a spur-of-the-moment search.What a find!!!My 10yo daughter and I stayed here for only one night, but we both wished we could have stayed longer.From start to finish David and Ian were truly exceptional hosts, both via email and in person - from the initial booking to our waves goodbye.I'd originally booked a double room but when I mentioned it would be just my daughter and I, we were offered a twin room for our comfort.THANK YOU!Made my daughter's trip.Moreover, we'd arrived in Edinburgh in the morning (spent it at Dynamic Earth - well worth a look!) and walking around.Despite us arriving earlier than expected, David sorted us out quickly and explained things clearly.We were provided a map of the area, including buses to take into town (the stop is literally a few metres from the guest house!).We've stayed at a few guest houses since the start of Covid, but I felt the safest here.Accommodation:The shower was HUGE!It's sometimes difficult to convince my daughter to wash daily, but she had two showers in less than 12 hours, she loved it so much.:)The beds were divine; I slept so well, as did my daughter.Breakfast was truly superb, consisting of a large range of cooked food freshly prepared.In fact, it was the smell of the freshly baked bread that actually what woke me in the morning.(Mmmmm.....a lovely way to wake.).Highly recommend the veggie haggis as well.We could have been rolled out of the room, Ian plied us with so much gorgeous food for the day!We didn't have specific plans for the day.Both Ian and David made suggestions that were brilliant.A *very* easy walk from the guest house brought us to Greyfriar's (via the school that inspired Hogwarts) and the National Museum of Scotland, as well as the Castle.I didn't realise the museum had a roof terrace - Ian mentioned it - so we made sure to have a look.The views are amazing!Highly recommend.Overall, this is a gem of a place away from the hustle and bustle, but all of that is easily accessible by foot or bus.My main takeaway from our stay is David and Ian's commitment to sustainability, subtly evident in every aspect of our stay.I cannot recommend this guest house highly enough.Brilliant.Simply Brilliant!

Ian et David ont été super disponibles pour nous donner des conseils sur les visites et faciliter notre séjour.Et en bonus, un petit dejeuner du tonnerre !-----------------We had an incredible stay at Ian ans David's guest house.The room was very confortable, clean and full of cool details (usb-A and usb-C at the top of the bed, hairdryer, quality washing products,...).But the most charming part of our trip clearly were our hosts. Ian and David were super available to provide us with advices regarding the spots to visit and make out stay a wonder.And even more, an extraordinary good breakfast !

I would highly recommend staying here! Both Ian and David were so friendly and attentive. We interacted with Ian mainly, and as soon as we got there he gave us a map and showed us the best route to the Old Town. He was always around to ask if we needed anything.The rooms were clean and newly renovated, but also homely with hints of tartan. I liked that the rooms were named Scottish clans rather than numbers (although they seemed to be missing Clan Cunningham ;) ). I also loved the smell of the sea kelp hand soap/shower gel/shampoo/conditioner provided; I’m tempted to get some for myself!We were served a delicious breakfast both mornings, with lots of choice (full Scottish breakfast, yoghurts, cereals, fruits, juices, croissants, jams, and freshly basked bread!). I am not vegetarian/vegan, but I noticed an effort to cater for that too, and I was offered oat milk which I prefer.I felt the house was in a great city-centre location, as it was on a quiet road, and about a 10/15 minute walk from the city centre, and very near The Meadows.I would definitely say that this was a COVID-safe place to stay. Despite its relatively small size (7 or so bedrooms), I had barely any interaction with other guests (in stair wells/the common room area), everyone wore face masks when walking around, there was hand sanitiser at the entrance, social distancing was in place, and we were asked if it was okay for our rooms to be entered and cleaned whilst we were out for the day.They also took our bags before we checked in, and after we checked out, which I thought was really lovely as we didn’t need to lug them around the city. Furthermore, we were told there were board games in the dining room area, which were there to be played by all guests, especially if the weather got bad.We visited Edinburgh during COP26, and hotels were getting booked/going up in price like crazy. Compared to other hotels/places to stay in Edinburgh, the cost was significantly cheaper, but that was definitely not reflected in the experience.Overall it was a lovely stay, I wish we could have stayed longer!

Superb B&B in a great location for access to Edinburgh city centre. Hosts Ian and David have created a beautiful B&B. Friendly and welcoming. Delicious breakfast with freshly home baked bread and pastries. Spotlessly clean.

Breakfast was made with great care and catered to traditional and vegetarian taste.It is located an easy 15 minute walk to the castle/royal mile. Ian and David provided very good suggestions for evening meals within 5-10 minute walk from the guest house.I would happily stay again on my next trip to Edinburgh and recommend to friends.

We were blown away by the newly renovated guest house. The Campbell room was very bright and comfortable. Everything was well laid out and clear. The breakfasts consisted of a very nice spread with different cold and hot options to suit all tastes with several homemade items including bread, croissants and pain au chocolat. The hosts were both lovely - being very attentive and flexible, willing to adapt to any requests. The only improvement that could have been made was the Great British weather! Overall, this was amazing value for money and we would love to stay again.

Ian and David's hospitality and service is second to none. I was welcomed, made very comfortable and had a great breakfast, all for a very modest price. Nothing was too much trouble. The neighbourhood is quiet but their excellent guest house is only 10 minutes from the city centre on foot and I enjoyed walking there along the lovely Union Canal. Being right beside a bus stop was pretty convenient too! You'll find a real Home from Home at Castle Park and I couldn't recommend it more highly.

Fantastic Guest House run by Ian & David, genuinely nice guys and very welcoming! Arranged for a Bottle of Wine to be put in our room as a surprise for my wife that I requested, nothing is too much trouble for these guys.Local knowledge excellent, advised on a couple if restaurants (very well recommended to as one was awesome!)Rooms were of a high standard, and breakfast was a real bonus to, nothing too much trouble and plenty of choice..!Will definitely return in the near future..????????????

Lovely warm welcome, no complaints

We stayed here for one night when we visited for my girlfriends birthday, We arrived about 4 hours before check in but that was no bother at all, we were welcomed so politely by Ian and David and were allowed to leave our bags until our room was ready! They run such a aell mannered hotel and you are really made to feel welcome and at home, the room was incredible and we got a free breakfast in the morning included in the room, the customer service was 10/10 and the food was banging! We heard they are shutting soon for renovations but we will defo be back to see the guys again in the near future and wish them all the best! Highly reccomomend

A nice and relaxed overnight stay. My hosts could not have been more helpful. My room was lovely, clean and comfortable. Service was second to none. The continental breakfast was delicious. I will definitely be a returning guest on my next trip to Edinburgh :)

I stayed for three nights in one of David and Ian's very clean, calm and cosy rooms. The bus stop almost right in front of their guest house is convenient indeed, however, walking -along the meadows- to the city centre is nice and enjoyable as well. I would definitely recommend staying at Castle Park and will return when in Edinburgh next time.

The host is very very nice. He told me how to go to the this apartment from train station. As my request, he gives me very helpful tour information about Edinburgh. I will try this house for my next trip here. The room is cleaned, with bathroom and tv.

I booked castle park guest out of convenience, based on customer reviews I knew it would be a comfortable stay. Arriving at the guesthouse I was pleasantly surprised. The room was cosy, beautifully furnished, immaculately clean and included lovely little features for guests including a welcome pack/ guide book of tourist attractions and places to eat.Breakfast was impressive - continental with options for all tastes and even snacks for those on the road! Table service was offered with a smile!I would highly recommended this guesthouse, it's homely, very comfortable and you'll be treated like royalty!

Wonderful B&B in a historic neighborhood, with Georgian houses lining the streets. The hosts are helpful, knowledgeable and kind. Excellent breakfast (bigger than its description), comfortable rooms. I HIGHLY recommend it!!!
